About Me

Alfred C. Dodini, PhD

I have had a very diverse set of life experiences that include eight years in the entertainment industry as a musician/comedian, a small-business owner, and  a social worker. After completing a PhD, I served for five years as Director of Clinical Services for the Anasazi Foundation in Mesa, AZ, a non-profit foundation working with troubled teens and their families. In 2007 I began my private practice in Gilbert, AZ. My wife Pat and I are the parents of 10 children

For at least 500 years the Dodini family lived in the beautiful Swiss alpine village of Cugnasco and other surrounding villages in southern Switzerland. My great-grandfather was a cabinet-maker and shepherd who worked hard to support his large family, building a comfortable home and providing for them to the best of his ability. He loved his homeland and the majestic mountains that had surrounded him there. But after losing four of his children to the “plague” in the 1880′s, he realized that his family needed safety and better opportunities in life, and that America was the place where they would find them.  He made 12 trips across the Atlantic Ocean bringing his children with him one-at-a-time, settling them with relatives and friends who had also immigrated to the San Francisco Bay area, working for a period of time and then returning to his beloved Switzerland.  He worked hard and he worked happily. Amid adversity, he still found joy and peace in his relationships with his family and friends, in his work, and in his faith. I have tried to model my life after those same values and to assist others in charting a course toward happiness and fulfillment in their lives.
